DIMA Children and Youth Music Camp Operated
Since 7th of last month, our university has been operating 'DIMA Children and Youth Music Camp' for 3 nights and 4 days. This camp was held in Anseong City to provide opportunities for cultural and arts education to children and disadvantaged youth to contribute to the community in a broad way. Our college students majoring in arts worked as teaching assistants and made it easier to access art through various programs.
On the first day, the group met with the mentors and diagnosed the individual competence of the participants. Then various themed projects, including orchestral ensembles and music theory classes, were conducted. Participants also received a band singing class for three days, and on the last day they participated in a "Thank you" street performance. Kim Kyeong-ryun (student of 16th grade in the Division of Music Major) who was a teaching assistant for the camp, expressed her thoughts, "It was so meaningful to get a glimpse of the passionate and brilliant musical talent of the children, and it was a precious opportunity".
The camp was hosted by the Lifelong Learning Center for the first time this year and attracted about 70 students.
